OF THE LESSON<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>QUALITY\nOF SERVICES PROVIDED BY GOVERNMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The\nfollowing are the services that a government should provide to its citizens:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Provision of&nbsp;\ngood and quality education<\/li><li>Secure the nation against external forces<\/li><li>Provision of health care services.<\/li><li>Ensure that justice and equity is guaranteed.<\/li><li>Maintain law and order in the nation through security\nand law enforcement agencies.<\/li><li>Provision of social amenities such as schools,\nroads, electricity, pipe borne water,<\/li><li>They provide security services.<\/li><li>Provision of employment to the people in the\ncountry.<\/li><li>Protection of human right<\/li><li>Educate\nthe people about the government policies<\/li><li>Establishment\nof&nbsp; international trade and cooperation<\/li><li>Intervene\nin disputes between the citizens and government through the court of law.<\/li><li>They\nprovide easy communication for the citizens like television station, radio\nstation.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Types\nof services provided by the government<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>They give reports and are accountable on how\nresources are used (Accountability).<\/li><li>They should be open to the citizen and have no\nhidden agenda (Transparency).<\/li><li>Fulfillment of promises.<\/li><li>Perform quality work.<\/li><li>They venture on project at the right time to bring\nrapid development.<\/li><li>The government policy should benefit its citizens.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WHY\nGOVERNMENT IS UNABLE TO PROVIDE SERVICES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>&nbsp;Inadequate funds to carry out their\nresponsibilities.<\/li><li>some local government refuse to manage\nit area<\/li><li>When there is too much control from\nthe state government to the local government.<\/li><li>Failure of the state government to\ngive what is due to the local government authority<\/li><li>Religion differences<\/li><li>Ethnic differences<\/li><li>Political party differences<\/li><li>Increase in population<\/li><li>Corruption<\/li><li>Poor income<\/li><li>Contract are wrongly awarded<\/li><li>Stealing of public properties<\/li><li>Vandalizing public facilities<\/li><li>Insensitivity of
