LESSON\nCONTENT<br>\n<br>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>OUR WEATHER<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Weather <\/strong>is the state\nof a particular environment at a given period of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Climate<\/strong> is the\nweather condition of a place over a long period of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A person that studies the weather\nand predict the weather is called a Meteorologist or weather forecaster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Factors\naffecting Weather<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The condition of the weather affect\nthe way we behave and react.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are different factors that\naffect weather, these are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Wind<\/li><li>Sunshine<\/li><li>Rainfall<\/li><li>Temperature<\/li><li>Humidity<\/li><li>Cloud<\/li><li>Atmospheric pressure<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Weather instrument\nand functions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The following are\nweather instruments:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><strong>Thermometer\n&#8211; <\/strong><strong>it is used to measure the temperature of a person.<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Barometer\n\u2013 <\/strong><strong>it is used to measure the pressure of the\natmosphere.<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Anemometer \u2013 <\/strong><strong>it is\nused to measure the speed of the wind.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Rain\ngauge \u2013 <\/strong><strong>it is used to measure the quantity or amount of\nrainfall.<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Hygrometer\n\u2013 <\/strong><strong>it is used to measure water vapor in the air\n(relative humidity).<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Clock \u2013 <\/strong><strong>it is\nused to show time.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Photometer \u2013<\/strong><strong> used to\nmeasure Light intensity.<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Weather Symbols<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Meteorologist make use of these symbols when\nrecording and forecasting weather.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The following are\nsome of the symbols used to observe the condition of weather.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><strong>Sunny<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Rainy<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Cold<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Cloudy<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Lightning<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Hot<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>GLOBAL WARMING<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Global warming is an increase in the average\ntemperature of the earth&#8217;s atmosphere that leads to the change of climate.
